We are thrilled to offer the rare treat of meeting the authors of “Can We Agree to Disagree?”, a fascinating book that explores the differences in professional working styles between French and Americans, a subject that is sure to resonate with many of you. Agathe Laurent et Sabine Landolt have compiled stories gathered from interviewing 50 people – French and American – and written a refreshingly human and decidedly non-academic book that delves into the question so many of us – both French and American – have asked: “Why is it so hard to work with them?”
Their amusing and insightful observations are woven into this gem of a book (rated 4.5 out of 5 on Goodreads), that will form the basis of our virtual event, on Wednesday evening, February 16th 2022, from 7 to 8 pm. In addition to the authors presenting the book, the event will also include audience participation: the opportunity to share your own experiences of working abroad, and laugh at each other’s trials and errors.
THE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL. In order to fully appreciate the event, we encourage participants to read the book in advance, and the authors are offering a 10% discount off the purchase of the book.
Please order now as they will print a new batch of books just for the Alliance Française du Maine and need time to prepare.
